Active Chemical Ingredient: The active chemical ingredient and component used in the GlowMark™ Arrow and all other GlowMark™ products is the optical quality lens containing our unique Crystal Glow Compound, SGCMkII™. The glow crystals we use in our products have been specially treated through an innovative and scientific process in the manufacture process, with the result that they absorb light and then emit a highly visible distinct glow for many hours afterwards. In practical testing, after only 8 minutes of exposure to daylight and artificial light sources, a GlowMark™ marker will glow for at least 48 hours, i.e. more than enough time to last throughout the night. Practical scientific testing of the SGCMkII™ Glow Compound within our specially developed and patented GlowMark™ lens was carried out in Germany by the Institute of standardizations and is detailed in the technical evaluation tab on this website, for further detailed information also please read the article in brief as you scroll down this page.

Uses: Fire Safety escape routes & Exit markings, corridors, pathways, stairways, bridges, tunnels, public areas in towns cities and rural areas, train stations, airports, bus stations, ports, docks, harbors, canals and tow paths, bridle ways, cycle routes; places of worship, sports stadiums, shopping malls, cinemas, nightclubs, car parking indoors and out of doors, in fact anywhere humans can walk, inside or outside GlowMark provides a low cost easy to install free of maintenance and running costs universal safety marker system.

Time of Florescence: After only 8 minutes exposure each day to natural & artificial light sources indoors & outdoors, GlowMark™ products will continue to glow for well over 48 hours before they need to be exposed to light again to re-charge them.

Scientific Testing: The GlowMark™ has been evaluated by the German Institute for Standardization (Deutsches Institut f|r Normung e.V., or DIN) under their 67510 standard.

DIN 67510 Testing and Results: All measurements of the GlowMark™ were taken in total darkness. It is important to understand this distinction when trying to compare an absolute DIN measurement with the apparent luminance perceived in low ambient lighting. These differences in scientific luminance vs. practical luminance are explained below.

A GlowMark™ unit was given an 8 minute exposure to a xenon source. The luminance value which was then measured in millicandela per square meter (mcd/m2) and recorded against a time axis measured in minutes over a period of more than two days.

Note: For the full report and DIN 67510 results for GlowMark™ view the technical evaluation information

GlowMark™ technology has a photo luminescent "return on investment" which is broken down into percentages we can see that the GlowMark™ has a laboratory efficiency of approximately 50,000% & GlowMark™ additionally has a practical efficiency which is around 9,000%.

Safe advantages: Unlike many other materials which glow in the dark, the unique crystal compound SGCMKII™ which we have developed for GlowMark™ products is completely non-radioactive, environmentally safe and friendly, nor does it emit any harmful toxic or flammable gases in its manufacture process; and is also safe for use in children’s toys and many other items where added safety is both important and necessary.

Below is a report from our UK manufacturing facility illustrating our factory Director and company CEO reasons for not using the harmful and highly toxic, flammable materials of the chemical Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide in the GlowMark™ manufacturing process; and why GlowMark™ technology was developed the way we have developed it to combat what is also explained in the Wikipedia hyper linked report below clearly showing the extremely dangerous hazards there are with MEKP.

Manufacture of GlowMark™ technology our UK factory Directors report: First of all it has to be said that other companies do have in manufacture & production several different types of glow in the dark products, although they all seem to be an integral/ combined part of the plastic material which is mixed up as one, this is made during manufacture through extrusion in the machine where the glowing crystals are mixed in with the plastic pellets prior to being injected into whatever shape is required for manufacture designs etc.

The problem with this method is that only a relatively low percentage of glowing crystals can be mixed with virgin plastic using this method which through our own research and development results in quite a lower level of glow being visible and for much less time than what GlowMark™ products have been developed to provide. And additionally over period of time this method of manufacture will cause considerable damage to the screw within the machine that the liquid plastic containing the crystals is passed through into the mould, meaning a very costly replacement of machine components in the near future.

Another method used, is to take the glowing crystals and mix them with a suitable clear resin and adding in an additional product to keep the crystals in suspense, otherwise the crystals would sink to the bottom of a container in a very short time. The mixture containing the resin, glowing crystals and suspension agent has to be set with a catalyst, but this is where “the horror story” really begins!

The catalyst used to set the resin is Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide which is a highly flammable and additionally highly explosive chemical, in fact if you click the hyperlink below and read about the catalyst you will find that it has been used to manufacture bombs; and would easily blow the bottom out of an aircraft in mid flight without any effort whatsoever, so you are not beginning to get an idea as to how dangerous this catalyst chemical really is, and our valid reasons why we do not use it in any of our products or manufacture processes. Please view the Wikipedia report which clearly explains the real dangers of using Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide click the hyper link below which takes you to the Wikipedia report for detailed information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methyl_ethyl_ketone_peroxide

Now for anyone involved in producing and manufacturing components using this mixture which nearly all other glow in the dark product manufacturers use, they will soon realize that unless the factory working area is extremely well ventilated, the heavy fumes that are given off in the form of an invisible gas will cause’s a nausea or a headache to start with at the very least to the machine operator, which eventually through many hours of continual exposure can go on and cause cancerous tumors in humans which is extremely harmful to factory workers and employees own personal health and wellbeing. Additionally if for any reason the products were packed too soon after the components had been produced, the glowing compound will continue to be omitting gases which will build up and which can become extremely explosive if came in contact with a naked flame or an electronic device such as a mobile or cell phone for instance, which could easily ignite the invisible gasses and cause a catastrophic explosion while they are in transit in a warehouse or being transported to their destination by road or air freight.

With GlowMark™ technology our patented SGCMKII™ glow compound and the manufacture method we use is totally different; and this is our secret and clear advantage over other producers and manufacturers of glow in the dark products within a safer working environment for factory machine operators and employees, so much so that the dangerous catalyst MEKP is not used at all and therefore it is so much safer to use in the production cycle for the reasons we have stated. No gases are given off at any point rendering our SGCMKII™ glow compound safe not only for the factory machine operators, but also for the environment because Normal safety precautions have to be followed under safe working legislations in any production application. And the same applies when using our SGCMKII™ glow compound.

Maintenance free aspects: Additionally GlowMark™ products are self cleaning because of our special sloping edges design of all of our products which renders them virtually maintenance free and meaning that any precipitating collecting debris such as leafs from trees or waste rubbish will be blown away very easily without a need for constant sweeping and cleaning.

Fire Safety and GlowMark™ technology Fire retardant breakthrough
The GlowMark SGCMKII™ Glow compound is also fire retardant and even when the plastic has melted at 170º Fahrenheit the compound that was not set alight was still visible glowing for many hours after. View Tactical Imaging test report for full information about a very significant breakthrough in Fire safety Technology for helping people escape and exit a fire in a building or structure; and which also helps firefighters to see where they are going in a smoke filled building because GlowMark™ technology can also be seen through smoke and fog, imagine the immense safety from tripping stumbling or falling down a stairway which is like a chimney filled with smoke and which has to be used to evacuate and building because the lifts become inoperable, the dual aspect of the 2M base rim will also reflect light back from a fireman’s flashlight, see Tactical Images PowerPoint presentation the Tac Tag GlowMark information. In addition the high Ultra-Violet resistances of our colored base rims means they will not fade with sunlight exposure for long amounts of time and can identify the 5 hazardous levels with their 5 different colored base rims which are used by emergency services such as police, firefighters, paramedics and military.
The high grade polycarbonate plastic we use in our products also withstands impact breakage and shattering; and a heavy goods vehicle will not break or move them once they are fitted and applied to a road surface. (See traffic calming and road use report which explains more applications and concepts of use)

Ecologically friendly aspects: Many so called low energy, money saving lights, rechargeable batteries and solar powered products contain very harmful and dangerous toxic chemicals which are costing governments millions every year in their disposal costs once these products no longer work; and which are often being deposited in land-fill waste dumping sites and which are also taking up more space on the planet often emitting invisible gases which cannot be seen or detected by humans. Consider how many times a year do you need to change or replace a light bulb, LED, battery or solar unit? when you purchase install and use GlowMark™ products none of the above apply, we know through rigorous research that there is no light bulb, LED or so called energy saving light which will last or work for more than 5 years and none of which come with a 5 years manufacturers guarantee! GlowMark™ however does!

See the World greenhouse gas emission report chart below and you will understand the massive worldwide impact GlowMark™ innovative zero carbon products in Synergy with our green and clean energy concept proposals which we believe through statistics we have researched and stored in our data base, can have a worldwide impact, further enabling massive reductions of carbon emissions in all of these sectors which annually create billions of tones every year and which are rising continually at an increasingly alarming rate.

In reality GlowMark™ products are considerably lower in purchase costs than many other named road studs, pavement markers, safety markers or boundary markers and alike; and many of which do not have the dual safety aspects of our innovative products or technology combining our SGCKII™ Glow technology and compound with the additional safety enhancement using Branded 3M reflective tape we use and apply to our products. With GlowMark™ there are no running costs, this not only saves the end user money but also means that installation is very simple and requires no particular expertise or additional cable running costs as opposed to those needed for conventional electrical lighting systems. A GlowMark™ marker can be installed anywhere, either directly onto a hard surface or onto a fixing post for unstable surfaces.

GlowMark™ Arrow Standard Base Rim retails for £4.50 (distributor/wholesale price excluding taxes) per unit with no/minimal installation costs and no running or maintenance costs; and the GlowMark™ Arrow 3m Reflective Base Rim Model retails for £5.50 (distributor/wholesale price excluding taxes) per unit (for Road use we recommend use of the 3M Reflective Model Base Rim). Go to Our Purchase page
    1. LED lighting for a pathway versus GlowMark™: (Based on a density of one lighting unit per meter).
Typical LED lighting units range in price from £20 - £650 GBP plus installation and running costs. GlowMark™ Arrow Standard Base Rim retails for £4.50 (distributor/wholesale price) per unit with no/minimal installation costs and no running or maintenance costs; and the GlowMark™ Arrow 3m Reflective Base Rim Model retails for £5.50 (distributor/wholesale price) per unit (for Road use we recommend use of the 3M Reflective Model Base Rim) Therefore to light a pathway 10m long with LED lighting would cost anything upwards of £1000 plus ongoing electric, running and maintenance costs. To light the same pathway with GlowMark™ would cost in the region of £200 with no further costs involved.

As you can clearly see there are many measurable advantages you will make by using GlowMark™ products which will also immediately provide the end user a massive 400% Saving as opposed to purchasing and using much higher costing conventional lighting systems which are all consuming huge amounts of electric, we know that electricity costs have risen by 14% this year and they will continue to do so with the ongoing costs of rising inflation. Now consider that every street light costs around £18.50 Pence, 20€ or $22 per light, each year in electricity costs and charges alone.

Now multiply any one of those figures by the number of street lights in your own home town, city or village; now you can clearly see a massive amount of money in annual costs being spent, plus maintenance payable every year by the tax payers and local governments which can easily and effectively be saved by using GlowMark™ products as a highly effective alternative. Now imagine if you could turn off every one in six street lights and how much money that would save? Along with an even bigger reduction of millions of tones or carbon emissions saved and reduced, helping the world fight Global Warming and economic instability.

    2. Glow-Mark Technologies, LLC lighting for a pathway versus Synenergymc2's GlowMark™ (Based on a density of one lighting unit per meter):
The Glow-Mark Technologies, LLC's GMT 214D product is questionable at best. Click this hyper link for access to their website (http://www.gototheglow.com/product/glow-mark_portable_15/6/?catID=1) which says absolutely nothing about specifying if their products glow in the dark technology uses batteries or solar cells, nor does it mention or state anything about its manufacturing build process, environmental impacts, nor does it mention the cost per unit of the products, or ongoing running and maintenance costs.

Synenergymc2's GlowMark™ informative reports specifies its website basic price per unit in addition to sample packs for preview of product (http://glowmark.net/product/purchase.html) and the information provided specifies up front its manufacture process, environmental impacts, lighting and efficiency ratings, standards testing, and other metrics which clearly show Synenergymc2's GlowMark™ is a much better product.

    3. LumeWay Road Markers versus Synenergymc2's GlowMark™
Apparently visible up to 1000 meters (0.6 mi) (If a human can see that far without binoculars or a telescope?) LumeWay markers are manufactured with a one piece molded frame, UV protected polyester filled polycarbonate. (The LumeWay website doesn't mention how the products are manufactured like Synenergymc2's GlowMark™ product does.) LumeWay state their markers have rounded sides to reduce lateral impact forces (The GlowMark™ Arrow has been specifically designed with special sloping & beveled edges which cannot cause any impact with forces against the marker its self by vehicle tires nor can it cause tripping over by pedestrians! GlowMark™ markers are also in fact half of the thickness of many other such markers specifically so that a human foot will pass over them without the risk of tripping or falling over by pedestrians) LumeWay markers are shatter resistant, even at -40C, Low mass to minimize hazard risk, The base of their markers claims it is engineered for maximum adhesion, with finger grips to assist installation handling; and come with screw holes for supplementary mounting, High and low temperature options, with intelligent battery management, a seven-day energy storage after full charge has been achieved.

Warranty - LumeWay Road Markers come with a seven year limited warranty. LumeWay warrantees road marker products to be free from workmanship and materials defects including solar cells, batteries, LEDs as well as the base. LumeWay will cover 100% of the replacement cost for the first 2 years and will prorate replacement costs for years 3 thru 7. LumeWay does not warranty installation for the following reasons. LumeWay markers are designed, built and tested in the USA from USA and outside of the USA additional imported components. Part numbers are determined by a five part suffix. First the Base color, then the front side LED color, back side LED color, come with a solid or flashing light feature and temperature range.

(Note: Flashing or strobe effects from this type of lights or markers and which can also cause photosensitive epilepsy to some drivers which is creating a higher risk of accidents happening, furthermore this effect can cause tunnel vision or driver distraction. These risks have been eliminated in GlowMark™ product design and development, hence why we use and apply 3M Branded reflective tape to our markers for road use and application)
