Fire Tragedy - Kenya
On Wednesday 28th January, 2009 a fire broke out in the Downtown branch of a leading supermarket chain known as Nakumatt.
Approximately 40 people died and several more were seriously injured in the incident and it is believed that more lives would have been saved if the shoppers had been enabled to find their way safely to the exits. (read full report)

Street lights across Leicester could be dimmed as part of a city council scheme to save energy and money.
The authority wants to dim 2,000 lights across the city, which it claims will save £250,000 and 300 tonnes of carbon over a seven-year period (read full report)

As you know Tactical Imaging has created an internal building navigation system for first responder’s which integrates incident command with a simple to follow standard involving physical “tags” placed at strategic locations within a structure. As we have been developing this process we have been looking at various reflective materials that will be visible to the fire fighter or police officer who must enter a darkened building.
